We assess candidate technologies against your measured waste stream — mass burn combustion, gasification, pyrolysis, anaerobic digestion, mechanical and biological treatment, and hybrid configurations — including emissions and regulatory compliance against national standards, and carbon capture integration on thermal facilities.
Financial modelling covers gate-fee thresholds, energy revenue, contract term and volume sensitivity, and residue and ash management. Technology shortlists are validated independently by WtERT — and where preferred, your authority can engage WtERT directly, with the validation report addressed to you as client.

Canada's funding landscape for waste recovery and emissions-reduction projects is deep but fragmented: Emissions Reduction Alberta, Alberta Innovates, the Northern and Regional Economic Development Program, NRC IRAP, NRCan energy innovation programs, the Green Municipal Fund, the Clean Technology and CCUS investment tax credits, and Indigenous-specific channels including AIOC loan guarantees. Waste and energy facilities attract hard questions — about emissions, health, traffic, and property values — and projects that treat those questions as an afterthought tend to die at the podium, whatever their engineering merits. Social license is built the same way technical confidence is: with evidence, shared early and in plain language.
We design and run the engagement program alongside the technical work: stakeholder mapping, open houses, council and community presentations, and plain-language materials that translate measured data into answers residents can weigh for themselves. Once a direction is set, we carry the work through front-end engineering design: siting and grid studies, environmental permitting and reporting, contract structuring, and procurement support — bringing the same evidence-first discipline to the phase where most projects quietly lock in their risks.

A dedicated project company finances, builds, owns, and operates the facility alongside capital and engineering partners. Your commitment is a long-term waste supply agreement at an agreed gate fee — no capital cost, no operating liability.
